My attempts learn about the Pleasurama project have lead me into a dialogue with Thanet District Council about their website and the way they pass on correspondence to councillors. Click on the links above to read the correspondence.

In view of the problems with thanet.gov.uk councillors email addresses I emailed all the councillors asking them to confirm that theirs worked I have put their replies with their details.

Working on the assumption that the intention was to include address, telephone number and email address I have marked the missing information in red. As I get the missing pieces if the puzzle I will add them in red. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have been passed a copy of your e-mail of today's date to Cllr. Martin Wise.

I am very sorry you cannot access my details on the Council web site. These were initially available on the TDC web site, for the past three weeks (approx) in the form drafted prior to Committee appointments being made.

On Thursday of last week (May 24th), I submitted some modifications to my personal notes. Upon doing so, all my details, including contact details, disappeared, and I have also lost access to my Councillors e-mail system, via the remote portal provided to us.

I fully appreciate the need for Councillors to be accessible, and to provide prompt responses, and the importance of e-mail as a means of communication. I myself also need access to the system to communicate in an official capacity, in a prompt manner.

I understand a number of other Members are experiencing similar frustrations, and I have already raised the issue, as a matter of urgency, with the IT department at the Council. As of this evening, my address and telephone number have re-appeared. I sincerely hope that e-mail access, and the reminder of my personal details, will also re-surface very shortly.

In the meantime, please accept my apologies, and be assured that neither I, nor any of the other Members who's details have disappeared, have any intent to hide our contact details. Quite to the contrary. Within the Conservative group, and, I am sure, within the other groups on the Council, we should all be here to work for our constituents, and the people of Thanet, and we value e-mail as a medium of communication.

on the roads.

I am disappointed at the our poor levels of recycling and want to ensure

recycling is made easier and more readily available for all. I also want to

address the traffic problems that particularly affect Northwood. Congestion,

rat runs and pollution all affect quality of life. I am a supporter and user

of the Loop bus and want to see our train services improved.

I believe the Council should be promoting cycling as a method of transport

which reduces our carbon footprint, eases congestion and parking, and

promotes a healthier lifestyle. "

PS I do not understand why the councillors information and portal cannot be

made public. I support Freedom of Information and apart from

pink/confidential papers for meetings think we should be more open and

Gentlemen,

I have asked the Web technical team to put a pop up on the screen when Member details are changed, to advise that the screen will remain blank until the new words are authorised by the Administrator. I hope that they can do this soon to allay councillor fears when they make modifications to their pages.
